Important information – Level 4 Competitions
The below documents refer.
SAEF have been inundated with queries regarding the ‘bio-security’ clause in the attached Government Gazette. The 1st Vice President of SASCOC has confirmed that the clause only refers to high profile events for e.g. The British Lions tour, etc. Our athletes do not need to present a negative Covid test before competing.
Having said that, SAEF wish to remind all Discipline Associations, Showholding bodies, Venues and Event Organisers that strict protocols need to be adhered to. These are defined in the 2 documents below. Of particular importance is the NO SPECTATOR clause in the Government Gazette attached. It is an offence allowing spectators into your venue. (see extract below) It is also an offence for people not wearing masks while attending shows. The only time masks may be taken off, is when a rider is on horseback.
For Showjumping shows, we request Showholding bodies to have the 2 classes per height, back to back, a maximum of 120 horses per class. Riders should leave the premises straight after their rounds.
Please distribute this document and ensure that all your members are informed of the guidelines. If we as equestrian sport administrators act responsibly, then our sport will continue during these very uncertain times.
