Dear DSA Member, Please be reminded that the recommendation for AHS vaccinations is between 1 June and Oct 31 of each year. Adult SA Champs are to be held as a CDI in the Western Cape in November 2016. The WCP Committee are going all out to ensure this is a fantastic event, long to be remembered. All riders wishing to participate in this event please ensure you are familiar with the correct vaccination protocol for your horses as shown below; AFRICAN HORSE SICKNESS & EQUINE FLU: INFORMATION FOR HORSES COMING TO SA DRESSAGE CHAMPIONSHIPS ON THE 2-6TH NOVEMBER All horses must be vaccinated annually with a live AHS vaccine produced by Onderstepoort Biological Products and must be administered strictly according to the Veterinary regulations. AHS Vaccinations are now limited to the period 1 June to 31 October each year – DAFF Directive for the Controlled area of South Africa. Horse vaccinated correctly during Oct 2014 and 31 May 2015 will only be required to re-vaccinate during the 2016. ...
