Rule Change Season

It is rule change season again, below please find the Rule Change Procedure as well as the Rule Change Form. Please note that all registered DSA members in good standing are encouraged to submit any Rule change requests to the secretary of the RCC by no later than the last day of August. Each member is allowed to submit a maximum of 5 (five) rule change requests. Important information – Level 4 Competitions

The below documents refer. SAEF have been inundated with queries regarding the ‘bio-security’ clause in the attached Government Gazette. The 1st Vice President of SASCOC has confirmed that the clause only refers to high profile events for e.g. The British Lions tour, etc. Our athletes do not need to present a negative Covid test before competing. Having said that, SAEF wish to remind all Discipline Associations, Showholding bodies, Venues and Event Organisers that strict protocols need to be adhered to. These are defined in the 2 documents below. Of particular importance is the NO SPECTATOR clause in the Government Gazette attached. It is an offence allowing spectators into your venue. (see extract below) It is also an offence for people not wearing masks while attending shows. The only time masks may be taken off, is when a rider is on horseback. By GARY LEMKE in Tokyo Tanya Seymour’s Olympic competition is over before it has begun after her horse suffered a debilitating case of laminitis, which results in a painful swelling and inflammation of the hoof (foot). The 37-year-old Seymour, who made equestrian history at Rio 2016 when she became the first dressage rider to represent South Africa at an Olympics, was understandably distraught at the news. With Ramoneur ruled out, this means that Seymour is also out of the Tokyo competition. A devastated Seymour confirmed the news late Tuesday, having arrived in Tokyo last week after Ramoneur flew in from Belgium and having quarantined in Germany. “When he arrived he was doing so well.
