Level 3 Regulations

Level 3 Regulations

Dear SAEF Members We would like to thank each and every one of you for your patience and understanding during the past 2 months of lockdown. We are grateful that the first steps to normalising our sport have started. With the announcement made by the Honourable President Cyril Ramaphosa, that South Africa will be going to Level 3 of the lockdown on 1 June 2020, the equestrian community can rejoice in the impact this will have on our industry. The relaxation brings about that: – Members may go out and exercise their horses at any time of the day between 06:00 and 18:00 – Businesses may re-open e.g. stable yards and riding schools at the discretion of the owner – One on one lessons may go ahead Permits will no longer be needed. Notice: SAEF

Notice: SAEF

Dear SAEF Members, Due to concerns raised by our members, and various owners of privately owned stable yards, we unfortunately have to advise our members to immediately refrain from traveling to exercise their horses during Level 4 of lockdown. This is in response to the most prominent concern raised by our members and yard owners; the possibility of breaking COVID-19 regulations by allowing owners to travel to individual yards to exercise their horses. The SAEF has therefore made the decision to once again contact the various government departments in order to ensure that all grey areas are cleared regarding exercising sport horses during Level 4 of lockdown. The SAEF take the concerns raised by our members extremely seriously and continuously endeavor to act in the best interests of both our members and the welfare of our horses. We hope to have further information by the end of the week regarding this urgent matter and apologise for the disruption this will cause in accessing your horses for the next...
